In the world of SEM “search engine marketing” it is all about good relevant content. Without syndication, you can be the likes of an Earnest Hemingway and not have your content seen. You must build a network of friends in the online community so that you can spread the word with your content marketing.
Having the best SEO strategy may be fine when it comes to on page factors but you will need to execute more off page factors like backlinking to get some momentum with rankings. As we all know so called black hat tactics are so not worth it. The last thing you need to deal with in your online business is being de-indexed by a major search engine.
So how do you execute on a productive strategy to get more exposure for your content. One of the ways to get content syndication is to simply make friends online. This is as simple as becoming a part of the online community. If you want people to rate, comment and bookmark your materials then you must do the same.
I would start by participating in forums, social media and other online exchanges. Look into your industry and identify other industry leaders or people with potential. Ask yourself; what can you do to become useful or do to become a friend to these people.
A lot of internet marketers make the mistake of having a scarcity mentality when it comes to working with other people online. This is a huge mistake in my opinion. Instead of worrying that your followers or customers are going to be exposed to another persons content; you should be thinking that collectively you will each be reaching hundreds if not thousands of new followers.
The internet is a vast array of unclaimed cyber real estate. There are hundreds of millions of people out there and your content is a needle in a haystack. You need to work with friends to create a thousand needles.
The concept of working with others is not new but you rarely find people that do it. This is because people are really busy focusing on getting noticed. Smart marketers know how to create a group of five to ten like minded marketers that collectively work together to give comments to each other and rate.
Imagine the possibilities of working with a group like this that is willing to give you feedback on your content. It’s like having a consumer focus group right in your living room. So that every week you can take your articles, videos, podcast and other content and share it with this inner circle of friends. Once the group has reviewed the content and improvements are made, then the group helps each other to rate, comment and re-syndicate the information out to their followers.
This is the way the internet was supposed to work. Smart marketers are forming content syndication groups because they understand that content is king.
If great content is king; then having friends online is the kingdom! Carrying each other online works, if you do it with the right people. Form an inner circle of leaders and become fans of each other. In the process you will each gain thousands of new followers.
